THE WORK WE DO TOGETHER
It can be overwhelming to reach out for help and to find a provider that feels like a “good fit.” I'm really glad you're here and appreciate the effort it has taken! I am passionate about helping people thrive in their everyday life by harnessing their strengths, learning new tools or developing boundaries to create greater balance in their life. My approach to therapy is holistic, strengths-based, client-focused, and culturally affirming and responsive.
DISORDERED EATING & BODY IMAGE
I specialize in working with clients who have body image issues and a history of disordered eating (yoyo dieting)*. Like many people when I first heard about Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size I was skeptical. Fast forward a several years, reading dozens of research articles and books, becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor under the training of Intuitive Eating expert Evelyn Tribole, plus numerous hours of coaching, consultation and supervision. Now, I couldn't be a bigger believer in this work and it excites me to help other people find a healthy and respectful relationship with their bodies.
FITNESS-FOCUSED ADULTS & ATHLETES
Being someone who appreciates physical activity or a current or former athlete can bring a lot of joy into our lives. It can also come with unique stressors or demands. As a life long athlete I enjoy working with other women who like to move their bodies. Many clients I work with have struggles related to the pressures of being athletes, body/food issues related to sport or movement, or are struggling to identify themselves beyond their sport or athletic history. Together we explore ways to cultivate a healthier relationship with their mind, body, and food. Whether you are on a competitive team or you enjoy walking or running in your neighborhood I would love to work with you.
